Transparent superhydrophobic film with anti-fouling and anti-scaling ability by facile method of dip-coating SiO<sub>2</sub> Sol

Abstract In the past decades, studies of materials with transparency and durable superhydrophobicity have captured much attention because versatile uses in outdoor glass wall, automobile windshield solar panel. this paper, a superhydrophobic transparent SiO 2 film transmittance over 44% was obtained on substrate facile method dip-coating without further modification. The contact angle sliding water droplet is 163.1° 4°, respectively. results reveal performance originates from synergistic effects rough structures hydrophobic alkyl low surface energy. coating exhibits self-cleaning ability, anti-fouling property anti-scaling performances. Furthermore, coatings good thermal stability resistance ability to acid base. techniques adopted here advantage simple process, cost fluorine-free treatment, which may provide an useful reference for preparation practice.
